We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Venepuncture Training Course! This course has taken 8 months to develop and has entailed extensive research and reviews into the most up to date and relevant guidelines on best practice in venepuncture and related subjects such as infection control and hand washing. We are confident that we have put together a comprehensive course that will provide any practitioner with the required knowledge and understanding to safely collect bloods via venepuncture.
The training consists of;
E-learning, to be completed prior to the training days. This covers all of the underpinning knowledge required for venepuncture procedures, such as anatomy and physiology, vein selection and disease. Upon completion of the course, the e-learning continues to be available to you for 12 months.
Training Day 1, covering theory in depth with our experienced educator. The various elements studied via E-Learning will be discussed in class and will be related to the treatment and treatment preparation.
Following this training session, delegates will be given a week to practice their preparation technique and to reflect upon everything that has been covered so far. There is also a mandatory section within the E-learning, which must be completed during this time.
Training Day 2, covering the practical element of the procedure. Delegates will be given the opportunity to practice taking bloods using a simulator before moving on to a live patient. All delegates will be assessed on a one to one basis and, upon successful completion of a live venepuncture procedure, will be signed off as competent by our educator.
As you may already know, our PRP "Vampire Facelift" course is only open to those practitioners who already have a venepuncture qualification. If you have previously been interested in doing the PRP training but lacked the required venepuncture experience, we can now train you in both!
