The first day of the course will focus on preparing for provision of facial treatments including investigative skin consultation. Investigative consultation is a thorough questioning and understanding information of the clients skin, skincare regime, lifestyle, main skin concerns, issues of correction, external influences and medical history in order to correctly determine the ability to address the skin condition effectively. Advanced skin assessment aids with thorough consultation by examining the skin using a magnifying lamp and observing texture, lesions, indications for imbalance, hormonal influences, implications to healing etc. This is essential to acquire the depth of knowledge to achieve and maintain the desired results for the client. Performing manual facial treatments suitable for a range of skin types and conditions. Making recommendations to ensure your clients maintain the effects of treatment.
The afternoon session will cover Dermaplaning. Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation method, with the use of a sterile scalpel, to remove the uppermost dead skin cells in our epidermis. In doing so, there will be improved skin health, cell turnover and better absorption of skin product ingredients.
The second day of the course will focus on chemical exfoliation methods. This will include the use of different types of acids for chemical peels to induce a superficial trauma to the epidermis which in turn aids in skin health, improved cellular turnover, increased fibroblast activity and overall brightening of the skin.
The afternoon session will cover Microneedling, using both manual and mechanical needling devices, and delegates will get the opportunity to work with both. Microneedling is one of the best collagen induction treatments available and works by inducing millions of micro channels within the dermis. This action calls upon the natural wound healing process and results in improve texture, tone, elasticity in the skin.
